Operation: Crimson harvest
This is my mentorship project I've been working on recently. Its a DLC proposal for the IP of 'Days Gone'
Pitch: You investigate reports of a hostile cult occupying a remote airfield, where military infrastructure has been transformed into a controlled hunting ground. They're training with infected hordes to attack nearby survivor camps as part of their expansion, forcing you to intervene and stop them.
My first steps involved thoroughly researching the game and its visual style, looking at elements such as colour palettes, materials, themes, and overall atmosphere. I then used this research to develop my own DLC concepts that would fit naturally within the existing game world, without changing too much of the core experience. I treated the base game as a framework, using its established style and technical limitations to guide what I could realistically design and implement.

Sticking closely to the salvaged aesthetic of the apocalyptic setting, I focused on creating a rugged, improvised look throughout my iterations and designs. I drew heavily from the shape language of US Air Force planes and helicopters, incorporating elements such as wings, chassis structures, and propeller blades into the props. Much of the mentorship focused on the design process itself, particularly on pushing the range and variety of iterations I could develop from a single idea and exploring more inventive silhouettes and combinations.
